Hi. I'm Audra.
I am a portrait photographer based out of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. I started Pine & Willow Photography to expand my long-held interest in photography. I got my first "real" camera when I was 16 (which I still have!). After a few iterations of different photography brands, I settled on P&W as you see it now. Let me tell you about it!
The name Pine & Willow came about because I've always had a deep affection for weeping willow trees and pine trees. 'Pine' is for the great ponderosa pines of the Black Hills. To me, pine trees mean home, family, and love. The smell of pine, the sound they make in the wind, their incredible resilience to fire - there is much to appreciate in these giants. 'Willow' represents the two large weeping willows on my grandparents' farm in Iowa. My grandpa kept the branches long just for me, and I spent entire summer days creating an imaginary world surrounding those trees. My grandparents passed when I was young, and I never got to tell them how much those memories mean to me, so I added 'willow' to the name as a constant reminder of my appreciation to them.
Pine & Willow is just a small part of who I am! When I am not taking photos of you and your loved ones, I am spending time with mine. I am a wife to a very wonderful man, and a mom to two dogs and one parrot. My family, friends, animals, and garden keep my cup very full. I am blessed beyond measure!
